I wrote in English and Korean about my grandfather’s service to the U.S.-ROK alliance in the 2025-1 Issue of the Korea Defense Veterans Association’s (주한미군전우회) ROK-U.S. Alliance Journal. My grandfather’s service to the alliance during and after the Korean War contributed directly to our family’s immigration to the US in pursuit of the American Dream while also inspiring a spirit of intergenerational service in our family (especially with regards to my uncle, who served the alliance as a US Army servicemember).
